Ok so I have read a bunch of new books lately. My favorite being "I didn't plan on being a witch" by Linda Eyre. It has me just cracking up laughing in most parts and so many I DO THAT TOO moments. It is so nice to have books and resources like that just to know in this hard world of being a "perfect parent" that we are all human that we all make mistakes. I feel lately that I am defiantly not the worst parent in the world but need to work on improving everyday and helping these two little curious boys channel energy not in destroying my house but rather playing and learning and most importantly growing. I love these two so much and I pray everyday that my Heavenly Father will at least just help guide me to know how to do that. The other book I have really enjoyed is "The Preschoolers Busy book" as well as "The Toddler's Busy Book." As I guess we have both now in our house. lol. So as I was reading last night I read this poem and I love it. I don't want to live my life with regrets I want my boys to know how much I love them, remembering the fun times we had together... So here's to a new day.
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self esteem first, and the house later.
I'd fingerpaint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

That poem is awesome! I loved it, thanks for sharing.
